James “Poppy” Frazier: Hands Like Boxing Gloves

James “Poppy” Frazier talks about working on the crew of a menhaden boat. The last “fish factory” in NC was in Beaufort, and long served as a major source of employment for rural communities such as Harlowe, where Poppy Frazier lives. This interview was undertaken as part of the NC Humanities Council funded project “Raising the Story of Menhaden Fishing” for the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center on Harkers Island, NC.
